Talking about her role in Shuddh Desi Romance, which also featured actor Sushant Singh Rajput and Parineeti Chopra, Vaani said she was told that her role in it would be a “parallel lead”. “I don’t like the energy at award shows. It’s rehearsed and everybody is just focused on themselves and nobody wants to genuinely applaud for anyone else. “I was never told it was a second lead. People aren’t even listening if someone is giving a speech on stage,” said Vaani, who bagged a few awards for her work in her debut film Shuddh Desi Romance. She opened up on award functions, her relationship rules and career in an interview by Vogue India for the magazine’s December 2016 issue, which will be available on the stands from December 3, read a statement.
