Smile International Film Festival for Children & Youth (SIFFCY) is set to return to the city for its second edition this December with a bouquet of over 100 films. “On one hand we work with underprivileged children and their families, and on the other hand under the concept of ‘civic driven change’ we try sensitizing privileged masses, especially children through mediums like SIFFCY,” Santanu Mishra, Festival Chairman SIFFCY said. Smile International Film Festival for Children & Youth (SIFFCY) is set to return to the city for its second edition this December with a bouquet of over 100 films. The jury panel boasts of names like Sannette Naeye, Festival Director of Cinekid-Netherlands – widely acclaimed as World’s biggest children film festival – with Fusun Eriksen, Advisor-Danish Cultural Institute among others. The festival’s advisory board consists of big directors like Nagesh Kukunoor, Hansal Mehta, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Resul Pookutty, Jahnu Barua and Santosh Sivan. Santanu said the focus of the festival this year is “to encourage and involve children especially from the underprivileged background, in the process of filmmaking.” “We will be conducting workshops on filmmaking, art design, cinematography and storytelling with well-known personalities from the industry,” he added.
