Chennai 600028 II: Second Innings movie director: Venkat Prabhu
Director Venkat Prabhu’s debut film Chennai 600028 was rooted in reality. Now for Chennai Sharks’ team members, their family and children come before friends and their love for cricket. Characters of Jai, Shiva, Amaran, Nithin Sathya and others have gained weight, aged and are trying to make both ends meet. The film had a bunch of newcomers and struggling actors playing the roles of regular youngsters living in an urban locality. The lives of members of the Chennai Sharks team have changed drastically since we last saw them on the big screen in 2007. While most of them have left the city for employment, the core members of the team continue to live in Chennai and are struggling to deal with their nagging wives and family responsibilities.
