Ezra boasts an all-star cast with Prithviraj playing the lead. Ezra is set in the Jewish backdrop, a less explored history of Kerala in Malayalam films. And the makers seem to have got it right for Ezra, where the background score makes spine chilling moments more horrifying. But, Jay is very committed to remaining honest towards his attempt at making a horror film and has said that he has not included comedy, which may hijack the seriousness of this supernatural thriller. A little over one minute trailer packs enough visuals to instantly click with the movie goers, especially the fans of horror flicks. It has majorly shot at Fort Kochi, which was once home to a thriving-Jewish community. The trailer of the movie was released on Wednesday and it gives the audiences a sneak peak into the gut-wrenching supernatural thriller, which has been a long overdue in the Malayalam industry. Going by the trailer the film follows the horrifying experiences of Prithviraj and his dear ones, in the wake of Abraham Ezra, an evil spirit. And it is, indeed, a welcome change. Music plays a vital role in the success of films in the horror genre. Director Jay K has kept his solid years of ad filmmaking experience handy in his first feature film, Ezra, as it is visible in the film’s rich production value. Horror comedy, a new genre, has become the favourite of filmmakers down south for a few years now.
