Golmaal Again director Rohit Shetty: Make sequels if you’re getting the right story, not just to cash in on title

Rohit Shetty says that sequels to any film should only be made when you have the right story. I mean sequels are made of films which were made even before I was born. “If characters are liked, you can make a sequel out of it. You can’t just take a sequel because the film had done well. “Even for that matter, ‘Munna Bhai’ was made into the sequel because of characters,” added Arshad, who played Circuit in the Sanjay Dutt-starrer series. You can’t make a sequel out of a good film… You cannot make a sequel out of ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’ which is a very good film, but you can make a sequel out of ‘Golmaal’ because everyone knows the characters.
